Bummer... the description said it was 120v and has both NTSC and PAL modes.

It may have PAL and NTSC but the meager "chinglish" instructions that came with it makes no mention of NTSC or how to change it to that protocol. It did make mention of PAL. He was going to email the supplier and see what they had to say. I am sure you have all gotten things from China and the stupid instructions are more trouble than the device. Example: "place operating squirrel into hole A so that better moth well be enabled"..

I think you'd mess with that SET button and then get it to display 0.0 to set it to NTSC.

That guy is more confusing than the Chinese instructions I got with the modulator. After playing around with it with no instructions as to how to operate it, I finally got it set to NTSC. However, the channel numbers on the modulator do not match up with the channel numbers on the TV. I tried it on about 10 different channels, rescanning my TV each time and the TV could never find the channel I had the modulator on.

The rain has stopped and the grass is growing. I don't have time to spend 4 hours a day playing with this modulator. It's going back and I'm getting one with English instructions.

I finally got another modulator and set it up for channel 28 to go along with my other camera on channel 3. My camera on channel 3 works perfect but the camera on this UHF modulator still has a fuzzy picture as if another channel is interfering with it. I don't have any over the air tv stations close to channel 28. The closest are channels 26 and 32. Could it be that UHF frequencies do not travel as far as VHF ones since I have a 1/4 mile cable from my barn cameras to my house?

When testing the modulator and camera in my shop with a short 8' cable going to the monitor, it worked great. I am frustrated and about to just get me a good guard dog or two.

Loss of coax increases as the frequency increases. Choose the lowest channel it will go to, and if necessary put a pre amp after the RF modulator end to raise the level of signal to overcome the loss. This is why the other one had adjustable RF levels.
