quick hitch options

Thanks found the information I needed on another thread: harbor frieght quick hitch toplink - TractorByNet.com and BTW the adapters are backordered until May 8th, 2009.

And thanks for the advise about the shims... I just didn't think about that. I only have one implement here (just bought a 5' spike roller for $100) and the hook up for that was too narrow (the quick attach thingy was too wide) but like you said, I could add shims to see if that will work.

I bought my father the same thing for his 5525 and it's holding up ok to and for the price it couldn't be beat.

did it hook up out of the box for your father or was some re-engineering required?

Fit just fine. Had it installed in seconds, then took a couple of minutes to decide on the height for the top hook. Has been working like that for 6 months now.

okay so i went to hf and bought the hitch for $80. the frame looks solid and the paint job seems fine. but the actually catches on the hitch don't look too sturdy so i can see i will have to be careful about hitting things and putting lateral stress on them. maybe i am wrong as i haven't even hooked it up and i'm just guessing. if it works for just a while it is worth the money paid for a try out before i buy something better, if need be.

I can understand that, but you aren't going to provide a great deal of force upwards as the arms will move, they don't hold force down.
