Quick hitch bushings

After waiting for bushings (category 1-3) I canceled my order took some 1 1/2 round stock, turned down to 1 7/16 and drilled the 7/8 hole and now I got bushings that are 3 1/4 long for a total of about $3 for electricity. I can either use a roll pin for pin hitch or use them on a Clevis type hitch.

I know this is an older thread, but what kind of steel did you use for the bushings? Anything special or just mild steel?

It was just plain mild steel. Have not had any problems with them at all! Pretty simple and quick to make out of round stock

Did you paint them with anything? Or just let them rust?

Nope just coated them with a little grease. Just never got around to paint them and there fine

It's amazing what I save in turning down my own parts for all the heavy equipment

It would be different if you didn't already OWN the thousands of dollars in equipment.....it's not like you went out and bought it all just to turn a few 8 dollar pins :laughing:

My time is better spent on other things when those bushings are readily available. I get them from a Land Pride dealer. there are 2 IDs for the 7/8 and 3/4 pins. The 1-3 adapter are a little loose fit on the hooks. They come in various lengths as displayed in the LP manual for their QH (available free on their web site). I get several long ones and cut to length for the odd ball ones. I have 10 implements and have bushings and pins for all. never have to go looking for them. naturally I have spares as the hired hand tends to lose then in the dirt somehow.
