Has anybody deleted there quick connects and hooked up the hoses from the mulcher straight to the tractor? I think it would help with flow. The quick connects always seem to be a pain one way or another.

It really is the correct way to run a mulcher but is messy and time consuming to change attachments . That's why people use them , I myself do it the hard way because flow is much better and they don't cope well with the amount of pressure my machine has .

Iron Horse is absolutely correct, that is the proper way. You will have faster recovery times and less heat buildup. Something you haven't considered is a quick couple can pop off spiking the hydraulic system and blowing the motor (case) seal. Seen this a time or two. And lastely all quick couple eventually leak unless they are the high dollar units, removing them is FREE.

Spent half the day running around chasing another coupler today. I dont think the extra time it takes to remove the head, and plug the holes will add up to the time and money wasted on failed quick connects. Mulching is messy bussiness anyway. I'm hooking em up straight tomm.

Yeah straight connect is the way to go. The big quick connects are hard to track down and are expensive!
