Quick attach pallet forks

I decided its time to build some pallet forks. I made them to Class II specs and grabbed a used set of 4"x42" tines. Knowing the capacity of my L5740, I tried to keep them as light as possible, while still being strong. Eventually, I'll get over to the feed mill and scale them. Tomorrow they go into the paint booth!

Is the Torchmate yours or did you have a shop cut it out?

It belongs to a friend of mine. I helped set it up and run it, so he lets me cut things out for myself.

Very nice work! I did something similar with forklift forks for a John Deere, but not nearly as refined.

Here's a few pics after paint with Pitthane. Where the forks mount is 1/2" blanchard ground steel welded to 2"x3" 1/4" wall tube. I made the Q.A. plate out of 3/8" thanks to some dimensions I found searching the TBN forums. My friend that owns the shop bought a newer forklift and was nice enough to furnish the tines that are on my carriage. We just used them on their first job and they performed great. Picked up a 16' long 18" diameter maple log without any struggle.
