Questions on 2016 F250

Most Fords need a relay that is included with the truck. On my 2012 it was behind the rear seat in a bag with a brake controller pigtail even though it came with the Ford Factory Controller.

Yes, I have tried with the engine running. No spare relay that I can find. Nothing in the owners manual. Nothing on the Ford truck forum I can find. I guess Im going to the dealer.

I had a f150 once where you had to add a fuse to "activate" it. The fuse (pos 90) is there and looks intact. (I have not tested it yet).

Wow, this is something inneber even thought to check on my '16 F350. We did a 4000 km trip pulling the camper two weeks after we bought the truck, but we had plug in camp stalls the entire trip, so now that I think of it, I am unsure if the truck was charging the campers battery. Checking this is going on my to do list, along with repairing the power tongue jack in the camper.
