Questions about hyd angle front plow

I'm real close to buying a new BX2350 and had a couple questions about the front snowplow w/ hydraulic angling.

How difficult or long does it take to mount and dismount this unit?
Thinking if the snow gets too deep for piled up too close in spots that I can just unmount the plow and hook up the FEL and move it.

I plowed two seasons with my bx23 and 60" blade. It rocked!

Everyone has a unique situation but for me it was perfect, about 500' of drive up to 13%. No problem. I left my BH on for ballast and never had serious traction problems.

We did have an 18" storm, it took several passes but it got the job done.

For mounting, I would say realistically about 10 minutes, I drop the blade on a dolly and disconnect, about 1 minute in time, and then take the quick hitch off, that takes the other 9 or so.

I just traded by 23 for a B3030, I got the 72" blade for that.

Is yours the hydraulic angle model? I thought there was a hyd pump or something that mounts to the front?

Yes, it is hydraulic up/down and angle. The hydraulic up/down comes from the piston on the quich hitch and the angle is a piston on the blade itself. All controls from the loader set up on the machine.

Actually I was confused and thinking about the snowblower that I believe has a pump mounted on the front.

Just purchased the front hydrolic blade for the front of my B3030, purchased both at the same time actually, because I severely disliked the rear blade. the dealer came over and we removed the blade and quich hitch. I suppose one man can do it, but it cerntainly works best with two. both pieces are heavy. The FEL will have to come off to use the blade, which was not difficult to remove either. togeather we handily removed the fel and attached the front blade, then removed the front blade and quick hitch and reattached the fel. Probably about half an hour for the entire process. Dosen't seem hard, but the pieces are heavy.

I just got my B3030 last week. I keep the quick hitch and the 72" blade on furniture dollies, $20 from tractor supply. Just trying things out this weekend I could get the hitch and the blade on my tractor myself with very little strain in about 15 minutes. Give a try it works great.

I have a shared driveway and with young asphalt (soon to be sealed) My neighbors have had damage from truck plows and have secured service from a plow company that uses the rubber bottomed plows. I am planning on getting the B2766 Rubber (squeegee) edge. If any one has any experience with this please chime in.

I also assume I have to add the BX2762 Skid Shoes to this package?

Don't forget to add in the cost for the subframe kit which is around $470.

According to my paperwork it says the skid shoes are required for the BX2763 hyd angle plow.

I have a power angle plow on the front of my 7610 that hooks to the loader arms. After three snow seasons I can honestly say, "I HATE IT!!!" You are constantly readjusting the blade, either foward or back so it cuts in the snow. Don't even think about turning it left or right. If you turn the blade left the tractor goes right and vice versa. If you do get a blade, get one that attaches to the frame and not the loader arms. I thought that a blade on the arms would be better because I could pile up the snow in one spot. NOT gonna happen with this set up. hope this helps.

It's a good thing then the hyd blade for the BX models attaches to the frame and not the FEL arms.

When it's 10 degrees out there I'd rather spend 10 seconds switching tractors than 10 minutes switching implements.

Ok, that didn't answer any of my questions.

But it did hint of other possibilities / ideas.
You may find a good used one that could save you some money.
Right now I have a fel on my BX23.
I have a front blade on my Bolens.
There is a front blade for my CC GT2554.
The great thing about this deal is it eliminates having to switch out attachments in the freezing cold.
Now I ask you why would I want to switch implements out in the bone chilling cold when all I have to do is jump off of 1 tractor and hop on another one?

I guess that after 30 or so years of changing attachments on the old Bolens I'm burnt out with it. Besides I'm not as young as i was 40 years ago.

I haven't found the need to change the blade out during the winter, on my BX23 I found that it did a fine job keeping the driveway clear and plenty wide, but that is here in Connecticut where we do not normally get huge piles of snow building up over long dreadful winters.

I could see having to do something different if you end up with 5' walls of snow along the driveway. We are fortunate to get those 40 degree winter days that melts it back off the drivewaysome making room for more. I have had really good luck with my blade. I can say that a friend that tried to clear the driveway consistently with his loader became frustrated after just a couple storms and went to a blade.

If the question being asked is how difficult it is to switch between the front blade and loader, the answer is that it is quite easy, presuming you are leaving the quick-hitch on the tractor. Downsides:the ground clearance is reduced in the front as the quick hitch sits lower down, but for clearing snow with the FEL this shouldn't be an issue. Other downside is that you have to drape the 2 hoses for the QH up/down somewhere while you are using the FEL.

Is the quick hitch the same thing as the subframe? I was asking the salemen about it yesterday and he wasn't sure exactly.
