Has anyone here done business with Mr. Zhang Jun of the YANCHENG FOREIGN TRADE CORP.LTD. in China. He has given me a quote for a Jinma 284 which is very good, delivered to my home. I just want to make sure this isn't too good to be true.

TIA for any responses.

you may want to keep asking him some questions, I belive YOU have to clear the customs not them... and YOU will then be resonceable for all the EPA paperwork that is required as well.

Mark is correct, he is an exporter. You would then be the importer responsible for all paperwork. Nothing impossible to do, you go through more hassles and take on more risk. For a one tractor purchase, doesn't make sense for most people.

The issue some people fail to realize is that all warrantee parts will take some time to get to you. The things that might be an issue on delivery, are not neccessarly the normal parts that would break or wear-out during use. And as such, not carried in large quantities by US dealers.

I've done it and know many others that have. Just make sure you understand what that can mean.

Spiker and JohnS, thanks for your replies. I will keep asking questions.

   / Question #5
I purchased my tractor from Mr. Jun. I received it about 2 weeks ago. As the others advised I acted as my own importer, but that part was a cake, the customs broker did everything for about $350.00. Other that the CTOA.net site being down, I have had only one minor problem, one of the fittings on the backhoe I ordered was wrong. Mr. Jun had one expressed out, but the wait is incovenient.

Mike:

Nice to know you got everything OK, had been wondering about him myself. Just always curious you know! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
anyhow what did you get 284 254, or 3xx? Jinma or different brand.

   / Question #7
Most of the time there are only minor issues. Issues with implements are usually very tolerable. If the issue prevented tractor use, that gets people excited /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I didn't know Zun will take care of shipping to your place. Some exporters have done this in the past, but many required picking up or you arranging for trucking from port or bonded warehouse. Good to hear that is changing. Got a friend with a good forklift? Time to buy him a case of good beer /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Mike, may I ask you a couple of questions? What part of the country do you live? How did you find your customs broker?

Thanks for your response..

Mike, one other question if you don't mind. Did you pick up your tractor, or have it delivered to your home?

Thanks again,

Jack
