Dick, no need to be sorry, would like to have all the info I can, so I can have a few things to look for. It's in the middle of nowhere, lol, cell coverage is spotty, so the more I know ahead of time, the better off I'll be. Thanks for all the positive in put.

I have a L5450 and have had the transmission fluid on the low end of the dipstick since changing the fluid probably ~3 years ago. I haven't had a light come on.

To clarify, there was a mention of "hydro" in regards to the transmission. I am under the impression all were power shuttles, either with dry or ever clutch?

By the way, my fleet of tractors is up to 11 now and this L5450 remains one of my favorites and most reliable.

So, you have a good unit in your L4150. Congratulations!

Tom: jms13 has posted some pics here of this nice L4150.

After reading the page posted above about how the clogged hydraulic filter warning light works, I think the thermal switch on mine is faulty and allowing the light to come on on cold startup. I think your switch is functioning correctly, preventing the false warning light at low temps.

I agree the term "hydro" is used to refer to hydrostatic drives, which are quite different from the dry or wet clutches in L3 machines. Dick B

Dick,
I agree should of used "hydraulic Oil" light on easy checker dash. Wasn't really thinking of Hydrostatic at the time.

haven't been able to try any of the suggestions, YET, but will be able to in two more weeks. I do have a brand new filter and a gallon of Kubota UDT.
Hopefully with warmer temps and a good amount of warm up for the tractor, the light will go off. If not I will be changing the filter and adding fluid.
Crossing my fingers....
Not sure about this but it was on a trailer for about 2 hours, before I got it, just wondering if maybe this had something to do with the light? :confused3:

thanks for advise.

The light comes on if the circuit goes OPEN. Maybe some connection jiggled loose during the trailer ride.

Just a short update,
I was able to run the tractor for about an hour, idling and moving around the yard, ran it up to about 540 pto speed, moved bucket in all directions
raised and lowered 3pt turned on pto. The light is still ON!
Next step is trace down the wires, thanks to rbargeron, and then replace filter and add more fluid.
Thanks for all the help.
