Question on 2305 MCS

   / Question on 2305 MCS #21
I just tried my new gator Magnums on my 62c. Mixed results. Sounds different under the deck. Leaves a few clippings, though light, on the surface. Quality of cut was as good as before. But the real noticable thing was it seemed a lot easier to dump the bags. They wer full and as heavy as usual. But Instead of the usual struggle to get the grass to empty out, it only took a little coercion and it came right out. the clippings looked were finer too. But this was the first cut with them. I'll have to see how they work out in more varied conditions.

I might be worth it just for that... Like you say its a struggle to get the grass out half the time.. Let me know what you think after mowing a few times..

Is the mcs on your 2520 a 2 or 3 bagger or a mc-519?

I had a dealer tell me that the mc-519 absolutly will not work on the 2305!!!!

I have the 14 bushel 3 bag MCS and it works wonderfully but it does fill up fast with the 62D

interesting he would say that when it is clearly mounted to a 2305 on their website: John Deere products for homeowners: Features for Attachment 3-Bag Power Flow Material Collection System

Following that link, that isn't a MC-519.

I have a MC-519 and, no, it doesn't work with the 2305 without modification. I had a 3 point hitch welded up to support the steel cart of the MC-519. The entire unit is offset a bit to the discharge side of the mower (62C in my case) so that the blower chute is able to connect to the MC-519 inlet.

My 3-point raises and lowers the MC-519 as I raise and lower the 62C deck. Since the 3 point exerts no downward pressure the MC-519 simply floats along the turf and goes up/down with any hills/valleys.

When I'm ready to dump the clippings I raise the 3 point and the MC-519 is now about 2 feet off the ground. Undo the top tension bar, pull the dump lever and the whole unit hinges open and the load slides out. No lifting and dumping wet, heavy, dirty bags!

Uses the same PowerFlo blower unit as the 3 bag unit, works a whole bunch better!!

Good luck -

Scott

I don't, but I can take some this Spring when I make the switch from Winter to Summer. It works well!
