So I am getting closer to purchase of this new CK. Just wondering if I should care about the model year... if the dealer only has a '23 or '24 in stock, does it matter? Has there been any major changes/upgrades over the last few years?

And another newbie question. So when I was out shopping, I was looking at some Kubotas on the lot, and noticed on the bucket edges the paint was worn (maybe demo'd). Is this something I should care about, or typical of tractor purchase.
Should I expect a 'pristine' tractor for delivery? Understood, its not exactly a sports car, that bucket is getting scratched up day 1.

thanks!

I can’t answer your question on that model but unless there was an improvement it shouldn’t matter. You might want to take any weathering or wear into account due to age. Wear on the bucket edge? The first time it digs into a pike of gravel that happens. Check the hours to see how many.

Yes...thanks, I will make sure to double check hours. I would want it to have almost nothing if it was a demo unit on the lot.

I wouldn't (in fact, didn't) care about year. Kioti went from 2 digit model names (my CK27) to 4 digit model names (CK2620) years ago and I don't think anything has changed since. I don't know that certainly, but have not heard of any changes.
As far as hours, if the unit you are looking at has over 50 hours you can easily talk the dealer into including the 50 hour service before delivery.

Kioti doesn't do model years, just series.
That being said, the CK 2620's were introduced in 2023. The previous generation was CK2610. That was what I had been looking for in the spring of '23, but my dealer said he couldn't get them (the 10's) anymore. As a result, I got a pretty decent deal in a CK3510 he had on the lot. I think there were only some very minor changes between the 10 and 20, like LED headlights. But you're not finding a new 2610 anymore anyway.

The loader arms, rims, and sheet metal should not be scratched up. But for the bucket, it really doesn't matter. Rocks and gravel take paint off like a paying job. Luckily Kioti's have black buckets, so the 'damage' isn't as obvious.

Happy hunting. Enjoy!

It isn't unusual for a new tractor on the lot to have 2-3hours on them. Hours are put on while dealer does pre-delivery and while moving them around they display area. When I had customers come in to look at tractors, I would encourage them to operate them in the yard, which also included a dirt mound, therefore scratching some paint off the bucket. How do you know if it is what you can work with, without operating it first?

I did take it for a quick spin around the yard (in addition to a CX2510). The CK felt much more like a "real tractor"... almost too big. But very comfortable in terms of the controls and operation.

My first real tractor almost got sent back in the first few minutes after delivery because it felt too large when I saw it on my own property. That tractor was a great fit for 15 years or so, until I upgraded to a larger cabbed tractor.

Every 'new' unit will have some hours showing on the hour meter. Anytime the engine is started, the hour meter advances.

Once you're comfortable with it at home you'll be itching for an NS... :ROFLMAO:

Well folks.... my dealer is OOS, so just put in my order for a new CK2620HST on Friday!:)
Now spending the weekend studying the Owners Manual .pdf (which probably sb titled "Your New Tractor and How It Can Kill You").

But seriously though... even though a lot seems like common sense, Safe operation is #1 with any machinery.

The dealer will tell you that model year doesn,t matter when they are trying to sell it to you, and will want top dollar for it. There will come a time were model year will matter, and that is when you go to trade it in, or sell it privately. If there isn,t much of a price difference, and you are willing to wait, get the latest and greatest.

OP just posted that the dealer is out of stock, so they'll be ordering a new one for him- it shouldn't get much newer than that. ;)

@zombieda I would recommend getting the tractor fully plumbed with rear remotes and a third-function, it's never easier or cheaper than having it done before delivery. You may not need it at the moment, but it's room to grow in to. Also, while there is no open-station CK2620SE you can outfit the CK2620 with almost all the same options, so consider looking over that list and adding what interests you.

I can not recommend getting the rubber floor mat enough.

Thanks! Yes ordered with the rear remotes. I did not get the 3rd function... I know its easier to get now, but I just don't see a need for a grapple on my property/tasks. And got the floor mat :)

I have been looking at a CK2620, I like the tractor but not sure about the KL4030C loader. I like the KL4030 loader better, But ordering from Kioti is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you are going to get.

I've had no issue with mine.

I think the reach would be a issue for me, the KL4030C has 16'' less reach than the KL4030.

I did not know that; that's yet to be a problem for me, but that's a big difference.
