I'd like to purchase a rugged carry all at a decent price. I've seen a few in those Northern Tools type catalogs and they are only rated for 300 to 400 lbs. Incredable price at only $99 plus s&h but I don't want to waste $100 bucks if it folds up like a deck of cards under a good load. I would think someone must make one that is rated for 700 to 800 lbs. Anyone have any suggestions?

I built one myself from plans I purchased from www.how-to-plans.com . It's made from 2.5" x 1/4" angle and is plenty strong. The plans say it's rated for 500-800 lbs and I added additional bracing so I would guess it's now closer to 900-1000 lbs. Total cost for steel and other parts was around $65.

Interesting. The Leinbach has the same design as the plans I purchased, including the angle braces.

Attached is a pic of mine with a platform.

Thanks Tom, I think that is exactly what I am looking for. And hopefully with my L3400 I should not have the problem of those rear extension hitting the tires of tractor. You said $100 right, plus I'll have S&H all the way from Oregon.

Hey, I just noticed the picture of the carry all from Leinbach you mention appears to be the exact same photo of the carry all shown on the web site "how-to-plans" which the madreferee told me to check into. I think it is the same exact photo, even has the same black frame sitting on it. I do not have a welder to make my own so I'll call that Adams tractor to see what it would cost to ship one out to me. Thanks again.

Mad, you just beat me to it. In my reply to Tom I said they look to be the exact same photo. Notice even the black frame for the planks or plywood looks to be the same. I may see if I can find someone local who could weld one up for me. thanks.

MadReferee's design is similar, but not exactly the same. On MadReferee's, the reinforcement piece joins the main vertical frame at about a 45 degree angle. The Leinbach reinforcement piece goes higher up and joins the main vertical frame at closer to a 30 degree angle. MadReferee's doesn't seem to have the horizontal member extending past the the place it intertsects with the reinforcement bar. The Leinbach has the horizontal member extending past that intersection about 4 inches, enough to catch the rear tire bars at full lift (on a subCUT). When I trimmed the excess off, that was no longer a problem.

I got mine from a local guy who only deals with aftermarket attachments. It was marked $125, but he gave it to me for $100 because I bought about 7 attachments from him at 1 time. That was 4.5 years ago though. I could not find this exact model on Leinbach's site, yet did on the Adams site. You might want to check the Leinbach site for a dealer closer than Adams so the shipping doesn't kill you. You might also want to call Leinbach to see if they still make that model. If not, buying the plans from MadReferee at a discount then buying the materials locally and taking them to a local machining & welding shop could be a way to get what you want.

Good Luck

What you see is the final version. The original had the horizontal sticking out another few inches. I had to cut it off and redo the angle brace so there would be tire clearance.

BTW, I purchased the plans and modified them to suit my particular needs. I have already sent johnw a PM about building him one since we are both local.

Want to consider making yet another one? I'm just west of Worcester, down in Mass. Where in NH are you?

I just picked one up from my local Tractor Supply, they carry King Kutter brand here in Ct. $89. + tx. Rated for 800 lbs, /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gifcat. 1 hitch size They also have the SCUT size available. It's 12" shorter in arm length, same angle iron construction, the pin points are closer together as it will fit cat 0 hitch also. They are both $89. For the $, I didn't have to think about it to long /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

At that price, sounds like I'll have to drive over to the TSC in Enfield and get one...

Since I'm putting it on a little B6000, the smaller one would work well for me. I just bought the tractor with FEL and it didn't come with a ballast box. I have a pair of wheel weights off an old Farmall Cub that might fit it, but I haven't had time yet to try them.

I bought a KingKutter and it has worked well for me. The paint job is not the best but the welds are good (unlike the KK middle buster that I bought). I have hauled at least 800 pounds with my KK carryall.
