I've never had a problem. The attachment tilts with the QH.

I was all set to get one after struggling with attachments. But all my attachments are old so I worried about having to modify them and I cannot weld.

I decided to store all of them in the garage and started mounting them on dollies. Boy, that made them so much easier to attach as well!!! Used the cheap HF dollies that were on sale for $8 ea. so they work ok on cement but are useless on grass or gravel. The other issue I was concerned about was needing to lengthen the PTO's for the rotary cutter and tiller with the QH.

I have not had to weld any of my attachments to get them to work. The most involved adaptation was on my newest piece, a landscape rake. It had a single angled support strap I had to replace with two pieces of angle and some spacing with washers.

All my adaptations have been done with nuts, bolts, and on the LSR I had to cut and drill a couple of pieces of angle. I bush all my lower lift pins to CAT3 so they fit tighter in the hooks. I think I bushed most of the top pins to CAT2.

I bought my QH from Agri Supply and it came with the extended hook. Last time I looked they sell a similar one and include the top link adapter that you need for most finish mowers and a pair of lower link bushings.

To attach the top hook on mine I made a couple of custom pins by cutting some half inch bolts and drilling them for a cotter pin. I line the holes up and use one long cotter pin to keep them from coming out.

The only piece I have now that I can't just back up to and hook up easy is my Howse brush cutter. I have played around with different methods and settled on unhooking the top hook on the hitch and putting it on the top pin and letting it float on one of the hook pins. I also have to use a PTO extender on it since the driveshaft was cut too short. It is still far less trouble than getting the lower links on without a quick hitch.

When using finish mowers you have to be careful not to lower the hitch far enough that the driveshaft hits on the cross piece. Not an issue on the brush cutter since it would be tearing up the ground if you set it that low.

Besides the mowers I can back up to all my other attachments and hook up and drop without leaving the tractor seat. Talk about a time saver!

Is the OP referring to attaching to the top 'hook' or that he didn't know to get the pin adaptors for all of his implements?

Or both?

Great discussion and will help me out a lot! Thanks for all the replies.

I have only had about 30 minutes or so to play with it but right out of the gate, my 3pt hitch will not go low enough to hook to my BushHog finish mower. This is what was hooked to the tractor at the time. My BushHog shredder might be a different story as it sits higher. I can lower the right side arm low enough by adjusting the length. The left only has two settings. It is in the lowest setting. The solution is find another adjustable side link for the left.

I still have to figure out how I can do the top link for the finish mower as I have the adjustable top of the QH all the way up and it is still to short. I can use the adapter for the top link but will have to play with the settings to keep it from binding when the hitch is lowered all the way down.

I picked up a PTO extension so that should not be a problem.

I just need some time to play with it to get the proper settings.

I am planning on getting a hydraulic top and tilt soon. I am thinking I might would like to have both left and right side link cylinders. This would allow me to adjust both sides depending on if I am hooked to the shredder or finish mower.

All my other implements should be easier to modify and not as important as I don't use them often.

I welded 1/2" piece of metal inside the lower arms to take up the slack since most of these are made cat 2 for the lower links. This was because basically I'm too cheap to buy that many bushings, I've had to do a few small adjustments on a couple of other things, but all in all, I wouldn't be without a QH...this is my second one, second tractor in a row. Of course some things like the post hole digger, boom pole (if I ever use that on the rear again since I now have a front end loader) and the bottom plow won't work with a QH, other than that, man it's nice to just back up and raise the lift. Of course, you still have to be able to back up straight....:confused2:

Yes backing up straight could be an issue! At the beginning of this year I finally changed the FEL over to the skid steer type quick attachment. Did not realize I was going to have a issue driving up straight. Kinda reminded me of the first few times I had to drive the combine up to put on the header. Just had to get back in the swing of things. Now not an issue at all.

Quick hitch is great. I use it for the bush hog and land plane. Does not work with the verge mower, needs a lot of space for the pto when doing ditch work. Haven't modded my blower yet, once it's on it stays till spring.

Well here is copy of supposedly standard for QH.... Unfortunately about a few hundred thousand implements out there from eons ago that do not fit specification nor do a lot of manufacturers currently manufacturing implements who have ignored the standards.....

Solution is to get quick hitch of choice and "fit" all your implements to "the standard" of your QH and move on...
