Congratulations on a great purchase. This will be the longest 1-4 weeks of your life. ...but it will be worth it. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Congrats!!! Thats a great tractor for a great price! And don't worry about snow, I'm sure the Great White North has plenty to go around, even a month from now!

Congrats!!! I know you'll love it. If you decide to get the wheels filled, be sure to get "Rim Guard" versus the old standby, calcium cloride.

This one small suggestion makes me think that at some point, us Boomer owners ought to put together a tricks and tips guide for new, (and even us older) Boomer owners. ...just a thought. We could cover some of the suggestions, like how to easily get the tractrors in and out of 4wd and change ranges and discuss some of the problems like cool running engines, breaking joysticks, and our suggested fixes. The information is probably already posted somewhere here, but for someone to try to find it all, you'd have to do one heck of a lot of searching. What do you'all think?

I think that is a great idea. I have been looking at getting a TC40D and one of the things I want to be able to do is have the list of problems with me and have the dealer check for them before delivery, or at least know that I made him aware of them ahead of time in case I ever have problems. I figure the dealer probably knows about most of them, but he might not fix them up front unless I bring them up.

So a list of problems such as running cold, leaking around that fitting, etc., and the fix for each would be very useful. I had planned to read through all of the old posts again and make my own list, but that will take quite a while.

Its a great idea to compile the known issues with Boomers and the corresponding fixes. Should a new thread be started for this to make it easy to search and find?

How about a thread entitled "Gotcha List" so we could always know what to search for and where to send someone. However, don't forget that one man's gotcha is just normal operation to another, so we'd all have to be pretty flexible with our entries. Sounds like a good idea to me though. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

A new thread might be the easiest. What would we call it "Boomer Gotta-know Info". Kind of catchy, don't you think. But whatever anyone else thinks if OK with me. Anyone care to make the first very inclusive first post? I think it should not only incude the problems and fixes but how about also the little tips like shifting ranges, keeping the front 4wd shaft coupling point lubed, etc.
