To those of you thinking of saving seeds to replant--maybe think again. Unless you have a dedicated field of open pollinated and non-hybrid plants, the following year's plants from saved seeds will wind up as a bunch of crossed fruits with little resemblance to their parents. If a neighbor had pumpkins or squash as well you'll accomplish the same thing. Gourds and pumpkins wind up as "gourdkins" and squash and punpkins become soft pale yellow fruits that rot and twist on the vine long before maturity.
