Just went to purchase a pull behind 300lb Howse Spreader that is driven by the wheels, and the sales man asked if I was going to be pulling it on flat ground. Well actually I was buying it to plant food plots this year. I dont want to have to try and hook and unhook from the disk, I thought this way I could disk and someone else could plant behind me. I guess Im just wanting to know if any one has any experience with these on not so level soil. I know that perfectly flat is ideal, but just wondering if it will work at all on food plots because the seeder is wheel driven?

The howse pull type spreader would probably be the best choice if you go with a pull type because of the wide stance and tires. This will help keep it upright when you go over uneven terrain. The problem with most pull types is that the wheels are narrow and too close together. Unless you're on very rough, steep terrain it should work fine. They are nicely constructed.
