PTO shaft sizes

Can someone confirm that the PTO shafts are the same size for CAT I and CAT II? I know the lifting pins are different sizes, but I'm not sure if the shafts are both the standard 1 3/8". Thanks!

Modern 540 RPM PTO shafts are the same size. The 1000 RPM PTO shafts on larger tractors are different. Hope this helps.

The "size" of the splined shafts are standard (nowdays) but those shafts are all available in different HP ratings. A shaft for using on a 100 HP tractor and bush hog combo would be MUCH heavier than what would be common to a 4' finish mower for a 25 HP tractor.
