PTO Quick Connect Coupling Problem

I see that this thread is approximately 6-years old. It solved my problem today, getting the PTO coupler off of the snowblower. I was pushing the sleeve forward, not the splined part back into the sleeve. Thanks for the solution.

when you pull the slip ring the balls should automatically disengage correct? what if they dont how do you remove the coupling? ty
