PTO question

I keep my BX in a locked shed and as an extra security precaution have the park brake engaged, hi-Lo in neutral, FEL locked and PTO engaged, with these in place it will slow down a potential theft but I am wondering if the PTO being engaged is likely to do any damage to the beast, it won't start while engaged but I wonder about fluid moving to where it shouldn't.

Engaging the PTO is the same type of thing internally as shifting gears. No damage. The clutch having to be depressed would also prevent any extra load or strain when trying to start the “beast” BX.

It's just an electrical lockout that prevents starting. Disturbingly effective at times even if you were the one that did it intentionally. The gears will be in mesh instead of out of mesh, but a most of the gears in the transmission are in that state running or not. There wouldnt be any tranny issues at all if you could start it with the PTO engaged. You might kill the starter with the extra load or cause safety problems with the impliment starting to spin. But not with the tranny.

Thanks, I thought that would be the case but didn't want to incur a bill I could live without, must admit that I have unintentionally done it before and tried to start it, the more delays I can put in place the better the odds.
