PTO Question

OK, I hesitated posting this question because it makes me feel like a dummy, but I just can't figure out the correct engine RPM to get the 540 PTO speed on my T503HST.

It's new and I haven't used the PTO yet.

Also does anyone know if the PTO shaft reversible to achieve a 1000 RPM set-up?

Your pto will be given 540 rpm at a specific given engine rpm. Most manufactures now label this right on the tach. Check with your owners manual or with your dealer.

As far as I am aware 540 pto is a 540 pto. Some tractors have a 540 and a 1000 rpm pto to give you both options.

Year make and model of the machine ??

Thanks Diesel Lover, I did go back look again at the manual, I found what you mentioned under the Cab layout area when I looked at the Tach.

I assumed it was like my BX24 where as the digital tach. needed to indicate 3140 or so to achieve the 540.
