New Holland Workmaster 84
I guess I don't know how to search properly as I'm sure this has been asked before. I have a 2023 Workmaster 75 open station tractor. I don't know how to keep the pto engaged while off the tractor. I have a small pto button on the dash that I think has something to do with it but I don't know the sequence or something. To engage the pto I have a handle to the left of the seat that you pull up to engage. That works fine. But I'd like to get off on occasion to check the baler etc while it is running. So far I've not been able to do that. Help.

It should be covered in your operator's manual. If you don't have one it would be a good idea to get it. You probably can download it for free.

On my MF I have the gearbox in/out lever by the seat and a 'dial' type switch on the dash to engage the pto. I disabled the seat 'safety' switch so I can get off when I want but on the rear fender is a small button to engage the PTO when you're off the tractor but for it to work the shift lever (hydro) has to be in neutral and the park brake set then hold the button for 3 seconds. Shuts off immediately with a second push.

I have one and have read it. It says push the button...which I have done. New Hollands manual is probably the worst one I've had. Covers multiple tractors and really when it comes to the PTO doesn't have info on the style I have.

Not the same brand, but my Kubota requires that I be in the seat, engage the pto, get off the seat and raise the seat within a second or two (activating a second switch).
Have you tried getting out of the seat first, then immediately pushing the unattended pto button?

I wired the switch open on my Kubota because I got tired of it shutting the tractor off everytime I turned in the seat to look at the tiller, mower, harrow or whatever I was doing. I'm all about safety (which is why my first suggestion was the manual) yet they also need to be practical.

All these safety switches; society assumes we must be protected from ourselves. The people making these decisions likely have never farmed or been on one.

A farm worker is injured or killed about twice per week, so there is some benefit to them.

Never as been an issue with my Ag-Utility Kubota's. I can leave the pto engaged and get off the tractor at will and I use it when I'm running my grain leg as I have to be watchful about how the leg's bin is filling.
