Hi everyone, I've got a 2007 JD 2520. I've got a technical problem with the PTO I've never heard of/seen before. Did a search via this forum and not much came up. Wondering if any fine folks on this forum have seen this issue....
Basically, when using the rear PTO/snowblower, I'm noticing the PTO is not shutting off fully when I push in the PTO switch on the dash. If left to spin with little to no resistance it actually spins quite fast.. speed goes up as I increase RPMs. Only way I can make it stop is by backing into a snow pile, then it seems to come to a stop finally. it's intermittent. sometimes it works properly again, but the it seems to act up. When it acts up, ssame thing happens, after blowing snow, I shut off the rear PTO and the shaft keeps spinning.
I thought maybe my fluid levels were low, so i checked them but they appear fine (middle of the site glass, etc) I also thought this was a weather thing. It's approx -20C this time of year.
Fortunately, I'm not loosing PTO power when using the blower in full operation and the systems seems to be operating properly, otherwise.
One thing I haven't tried yet is flipping back/forth with the mid/rear PTO switch to see how that affects this behavior (might try that tomorrow).
Appreciate any advise or feedback. I really hope I don't have some kind of a problem in the transmission
Thanks,
Gord
