I will likely purchase a king Kutter 5 ft tiller soon and my Kubota L3400 has a quick attach and am wondering if the pto shaft that comes with the tiller will be long enough. Can anyone help with this?

Thanks

Generally speaking, the shaft is a stock shaft that you cut to fit your tractor.

Measure from your tractor pto stub (where it locks in) to the lower pins of your quick hitch. Bring a tape measure when you buy your tiller, stretch out the shaft to where it would connect to the tractor, and see how much overlap you have.
You can also add a pto adapter as discussed in this TBN thread if the measured overlap is not sufficient.

There is considerable discussion on what an adequate overlap is... I have always considered 6" to be a reasonable minimum, but some state that 1/3 of the shaft length is the required minimum.

When you figure your PTO shaft length remember when the implement is raised the PTO distance decreases. You must be sure when it is raised it does not put thing into a bind.

If it does, it will destroy either the input bearing on the implement or the pto support bearing on the tractor. Usually the latter.
