Kubota Bx24, 2007
Hi very long time since I posted here guys. I got my tiller today for my bx24, happy went in my garden started tilling...20 min later a stone got stuck in the tiller, my overload clutch on the pto axle released, I stopped my pto. I got rid of the stone, and I was focused to get started but my pto doesnt engage any more... something got wrong.
Any advice where to start? Before I have to split my bx...

is your pto not turning when engaged or is the shaft turning but not turning the pto shaft/ you will have to pull the pto shaft from the tractor end for this one.

If the tiller is not getting power beyond the slip clutch you may need to tighten the engagement adjustment on the slip clutch. On the slip clutch on my Land Pride rotary cutter this is four nuts on four bolts holding the slip clutch together.

Following the troubleshooting flow charts, like a crystal ball, you'll need to split your tractor.

I have a feeling the slipper clutch rusted up and it didn't slip like it was supposed to, and you stripped the shaft or something else inside of the transmission.

If it was me, I'd be happy to take it apart. :)

Hi, yes I agree, something around the pto clutch.. any idea where to find a good workshop manual?

Tillers can put a lot of strain on the PTO for sure when a big stick or rock tries to jam things up ,

Not sure how similar the BX 24 and BX 2230 are but
here is a BX 2230 thread from 2016 where front and rear PTOs quit like what you describe

this is what they found when the trans was opened up

three gears with bad teeth and a broken shaft

post 3 may be helpful has instructions on how to access Kubota's site for exploded view, parts and manual pricing

if the 2230 trans is similar to the BX24 the pics show which shaft can break when things get jammed up.

I think you do too. Think I'd be lipping the implement clutch so you don't have a repeat performance.
Yup, your right

So I have come this far now. Making a gearbox stand then its tear down time...
I did read at an other thread that Kubota have made some upgraded parts to the pto on the bx24. Can anyone confirm this?
