Oh also they ask for a reserve 100 dollars for a end of june purchase. Is this somehting companies do often I have never seen this,,,

I looked at one up close the other day, it looked like a well built machine. I think it was the 8" manual feed.

It said it was from China but well built. the video made it look to be smooth operation.

Not big on Chinese stuff, but the price/features is undeniably a great value.

For a couple hundred more you could get a Wallenstein. I didn't find any specs. on flywheel size/weight, but it's feed rate looked pretty slow too. Doesn't look like a great deal to me..
The W's use a 4 blade 120# flywheel as opposed to a two blade, (on the BX42), no belts or pulleys, direct drive. They're calling that an 8" chipper, the biggest thing in the video was about 5" that went in it. Not saying it wouldn't do 8, but on the small stuff it should go in 3x as fast. And that's without any power feed..

The specs are on their site - 2 flywheel blades and 185# flywheel. Feed speed is variable and ranges from 0-28 ft./min. Definitely chinese made, but they make that clear and WoodMaxx seems to be very upfront and communicate well with their customer - based on the reviews.

There's a bunch of importers who bring the same machine stateside. They're slightly modified by the various disbributors (color, base, shrouds, discharge chut, etc.) Here's a few pics before they board the ship.

Yep...and that's something to be careful of as most these importers won't be around too long.
