First thing I did the day it was delivered two years ago was disable the reverse pto kill switch. All the backing up I have to do, I'd fry that thing in no time. Whether or not your blades are spinning, its still dangerous to back up a tractor without looking. They'll never design a kill switch for those that don't look.

Thanks for the reply . . . I hope your new PTO clutch takes care of any problems! Does anybody know of any suggested or recommended maintenance steps that could improve the longevity of this PTO assembly?

Long PTO clutch life can be achieved on any Cub Cadet by doing this operating procedure:

Always.......engage and disengage the PTO clutch at half throttle or less. By doing this the engagement will be smoother and have less "shock' to the engine. This will increase the life span of your PTO clutch by 200%-300%
