Pros and Cons of allowing Cell Tower on Property?

I have a friend with a cell tower on her property. They wanted to buy her out of her lease. They offered her $75K. She hired someone to negotiate for her. Closed at $750K. Their pricing is negotiable.

I would never allow one on my property, I would rather sell a parcel next to the road for a someone to build a house if I was in a hard spot. Hold out for fiber optic, it is superior in every way and it doesn't hurt your health. We moved to this county specifically because there is fiber optic all over the county.

I’d kill for fiber. We’ve been long forgotten. Too many trees to the north so no Starlink either.

I came home one day and there was a utility box along the side of my front fence and a business card in my mailbox saying that fiber was available. My wife called and made an appointment the next day. Within a week they laid the fiber land across the top off our pasture to the house and hooked it up. A week later they came back and buried it. Distance was about 800 feet and the cost for the install was $100. Cost is $76 a month for super fast internet, no buffering when watching shows online and we set up a Bridge to my Mom's house so she can use it too!!!

With Satellite I was spending thousands on tree removal every couple of years.

I had offered the home as a rental and without cell or Internet 98% of those interested dropped out.

I spent the money for Internet and the renter I ended up renting to didn’t want it… go figure.

No trenching… it was all bored with 3 boxes along the way… just like work I had seen along the State Highway.

No cell service at my house either. Fortunately, they ran fiber up my road a few years ago, so 1GB FIOS. The cell phones work VOIP.
Do you have a cell plan with either the company that ran the fiber or another cellular provider, or do you only have a working telephone near WiFi routers?

Cell service has been through US Cellular, which has the best rural service. I don't buy data from them because it's all wifi at home.

Ok. I was just trying to figure out where you got your SIM card and telephone # from, if you paid nothing for cell service

I may change to one of the discount services. US Cellular was just bought by T-Mobile.
