This is one hell of an insult which I regard as your opinion, and you have the right to express it.

We are mostly farmers here and should be allowed to speak naturally the way we do in our every day life. If this forum is to serve tractor owners, then run it the way a man would freely run his farm: cuss like the devil at anything and anyone who pisses him off. Don't moderate it like a kindergarten for kids needing protection from bullies.

The demographic here is not farmers. Not even close. From what I read, it's predominantly middle aged to retired white guys with small acreage, mostly above average income, mostly conservative viewpoints. Except for the income, that describes me to a T. I was 40 when I joined here. I'm 61 now. Yes, there are people here that farm for a living. And doctors, lawyers, teachers, trades people, factory workers, sales people. All kinds of backgrounds. I'd guess farmers are less than 5% of the makeup. Maybe even less than that. That's probably due to the site is predominantly geared towards compact tractor owners.

Ok, then moderate it for guys who drive tractors to tend to their properties. I don't get the feeling that there are any women here. Not even in the cooking threads! All guys sharing recipes.

I'll bet the average guy here could crush my hand in a friendly handshake. And I am supposed to be tractorless wimp. So why is a tough ex-marine like you calling for moderators?
There are women on this forum.

Ive been told I have a talent for seeing through BS and pseudo tough guys right quick.
Other than that, Im just your average Joe aging out. :(

Hey, its been fun playing along with your charade with a heating pad under my back and a bottle of Aleve to OD on.
Have you tried Aleve PM? One or two of those usually gets me through about 5-6 hours of pain free sleep. Even when you have the kind of pains that wake you up if you move in bed, it just takes enough edge off of it so you don't notice it.

Richard, you use the term 'friend' quite loosely...

He's just another keyboard rambo from what I see. and I only 'see' him at my discretion. Ignore allows me to do that.

Now that you've had a taste of 'Forum B' and it's moderation or lack of, isn't that refreshing? refreshing to carry on a conversation and poke fun at another member without them getting their panties in a twist or you getting chastised, why I like Forum B actually and it's getting new members that hang around and join in the fun all the time as well.

You really enjoy getting other people to dislike each other, dont you?
No doubt Richard doesnt like me and the feeling is mutual, but I do notice you enjoy making it worse.
Around my way, we call people like that a “weasel”.

I'm happy for you. Maybe you can hang out over there more often. I certainly will. :)

I don't know of a single member that farms for a living. Some subsidize their income with farming.

I really do appreciate these last few pages. It reveals those whom I should 'IGNORE' or in this case, reaffirms my decision very early on that some individual's comments aren't worth reading. The only thing missing here is a thumbs down where enough would get one thrown out of a conversation.

As to the "ignore button", it will work for members filtering out the jerks. But the issue is visitors to the forum see us acting like three year olds, and decide not to come back or join.
Come on, man. You worried about visitors' impression (about this forum) that may cast you in a bad light? You are in good company here, and I mean the regular members of this forum.
Prince Andrew did not give his accuser over $16 million as a heartfelt "Thank you for your services". Hundreds of other examples.
I view that $16 million as an extortion. The services were paid for a long time ago in a deal between a willing buyer and a willing seller. The victim of extortion is the British Crown. The criminal is the American judge who enabled the blackmail and facilitated the payoff.
Man is basically evil and tribal.
This is a simple way to look at the problem. Therefore, your solution is law enforcement.

If we are all evil, then the purpose of moderation is to curb those we do not like. How come God doesn't moderate and allow us the freedom to do as we please regardless of the evil we do?

With me, it's all about 'user discretion advised'. Been here many years and after a while, you realize that some commenters comments are basically worthless, so you either put them on ignore (which is handy because you don't see the comments unless you choose to or you just skim over them. One thing I've noticed on this site and that is, if someone posts a satirical comment, it's always taken as an insult. No one seems to have any sense of humor on here.
