The belt was just a month, at the most two months old. I plan to pull the deck off and check for any bearings that are worn.
Is there any chance that the pulley's themselves are out of line?

My JD L130 liked to throw belts and the reason for the problem was the idler pulley bracket failed. It literally broke off in my hand when I was putting the belt back on. $5 or $6 for a new bracket and an equivalent in gas to and from the dealer solved the problem...so far.

what model is it??? my FIL has a 21XX (cant remember the exact model) Cub Cadet with two belts on the ~50" deck (one on the deck and one to go to the engine) a few weeks ago it shredded the deck belt, the cause was the tensioned freezing up, it was bolted to the deck, no double nutting or anything, I replaced the bolt with a longer one, put on 2 washers above and below the tensioner arm and double nutted the bolt that holds everything together. it should not have that problem again.
