Problem with Cordless Hand Tools

Having a problem with removing the batteries from my Milwaukee Cordless Hand Tools. Great tools, use them frequently (even when corded would work), but have difficulty getting the batteries off to recharge/replace.
Would appreciate any ideas - thought of coating the batteries with vasaline where they slide onto the tool or spraying with WD-40, but don't know if that might not create problems with the electrical connection. Any ideas?

I have the same issue with my Milwaukee set. Great tools, real pain sometimes to remove the batteries. I've found pushing the battery in before compressing the locking tabs to work. I'm a little leary of using WD-40 on plastics.

On edit, I was looking around the Milwaukee users site and apparently this is a common issue. A few suggested trying oil-less lubes (e.g. KY, etc) but the Milwaukee discourages this as the dirt will be held in by the lube making the issue worse.

Its real common, in fact its what got me to buy another brand. Maybe some silicone spray might help.

Thanks for the replies. I thought it might be my aging arthritic fingers, but at least I now know it's a larger problem. No end to the "Good Stuff" that one gains from TBN.

I'd try some silicone spray, then buff off any excess with a dry cloth. Either that or some type of dry lubricant, such as maybe grafite powder, or even some parafin wax.

I like to keep a block of parafin wax around the shop. It comes in very handy for waxing sticking doors, windows, etc. In a pinch, I've waxed sticking doors with a bar of soap. It will last quite a while.

I see Milwaukee is coming out with lithium ion batteries next month. They look promising.

PS, there are two cordless brands made in the US, do you knowe who they are?

You can probably use the conductive grease that you put on trailer hitch light connections.
