I've got a 1046 with 25hrs on it and always have trouble starting it. After 5-7 days of non use, it won't start and I usually get it going by spraying some carb cleaner in the carb throat. It's basically done this ever since I bought it. I've brought it back to the dealer but they say they can't find the problem and they want to charge me 30-40 dollars to clean the carb. According to them, cleaning the carb is not covered under warranty. I can't take it back to the dealer because I'm afraid I will choke the manager. Any ideas what could be causing this? It will crank all day long. I've been using sta-bil the whole time.

Yes it is. For some reason, I couldn't find the original post and decided to re-submit.

Without looking at it I was wondering if you have bowl attached to the bottom of the carb? If you do, look to see if the drain plug is leaking or maybe the gasket? Start there and look for any minor leaks.
