I was doing some work and a tree branch randomly pitched up from the
right front wheel and entered the operator area on my JD 1020. It bent the metal guide to the 3 pt hitch lever and also moved the 3 position switch under the seat area.

I did not know that switch existed much less what the position had been. Not
sure what it does.

I've straightened up the metal guide and the lever will move the full range but
the 3 point will not move to its previous low position. This is true if the unknown switch is in any of the 3 positions.

Can someone please tell me what the switch does and does anyone have
any thoughts as to why the 3 pt behavior has changed?

THANKS

The 3 position handle under the seat is the load & depth control
D = depth
L/D is a setting in between L & D that is less sensitive than L
L = load.
For any operation other than plowing the lever should be set in "D"
