Have been researching, reading, and calling around for the last week.

Decided for my needs a B2920, B3200/B3350, L2501 would suite

Dealer has a New 2013 B2920 w/FEL
Unit has 1 hour on it
Unit is faded from sitting on the lot for a few years? Shows weather wear.

Asking price is around 17k. After reading through many threads of previous buys I see these type of prices including MMM etc. Curious if anyone knows the MSRP back in 2013 for this tractor to base the -10%-12% negotiation point with. Id also image the dealer will go even lower as its been on his hands for awhile.

My other option in a similar price range would be a brand new L2501 Gear for around the same 17k price point. Or HST +1500$

My use will be driveway maintenance/snow removal (with plow not SB)/ etc
Logging out 10 Cords of firewood yearly.
Maintaining 1 acre garden.
No mowing will be done
FEL attachments (spade/ratchet rake/piranha) FEL used for digging ditches on drive.

From what i read the B2920 should be able to handle the firewood task.
How much power difference will there be with the 29hp B2920 vs the heavier lower HP L2501

Any insight would be greatly appreciated thank you! Lots of wonderful information and members here.

I had a B 2920 and it was a solid machine. It sounds like your dealer wants that one to remain on his lot. I would suggest you look at the new B2650 and the L2501 you mentioned. And between those two compare the features and what makes sense to you. For what you outlined I would lean towards the L.

Btw, spring for the HST.

The other suggestion is go to another surrounding dealer for price comparison. It would be worth your effort.

Once you get a local quote you could even get a quote from Barlow's, Messicks or Marshal Machinery and have one shipped to you.
Btw, welcome and enjoy the site and your future new tractor.

Ill look into the b2650 - The main reason I was considering the B2920 was hoping for a good deal on a new leftover 2013.

I had a B2920 and it was a great little machine. Actually, a hot rod with all that power in a small package. Very good size for getting firewood out of the woods, but keep in mind that the front bucket is pretty small. You can skid out some pretty big logs, but the front bucket won't hold a lot of wood. One of the reasons I traded for a larger L3200 after two years was moving split firewood -- what took 4-5 trips to restock my front porch with the B2920 only takes about 2 trips with the L3200 because the front bucket is so much bigger.

I paid $15400 with front loader at the end of 2011, that was for a brand new 2920 in crate. Now in 2015, I think $17K is way overboard, especially for a 2 year old leftover that is weather faded. Heck, I owned my B2920 for two years and 135 hours and it still looked great when cleaned up to trade in. I'd have a hard time buying a "new" tractor that was weather faded.

The L 2501 has a lot more weight, so it can make use of the HP better, but I think it would feel underpowered. I have an L3200 that is adequate most of the time but feels a little weak other times, and that has 7HP more.

Just as a data point, my L3200 HST with front loader was $19K at the end of 2013.

First, I think that price is high for a sun faded tractor. Second, for your uses, I would say L2501 all the way. I like my B2620 very much, but if I can have the cost I would have bought a L. If you are working in the woods, I think the clearance of the L would be nice to have.

I hope you are still around because I was curious of what tractor you purchased.
The faded paint is nothing. Mine shines and with in a few rubs comes back to new again.
I have a B2920 so I was curious which one you bought.

Wow! A NEW 2013 B2920! I wish I could go grab that. I bought my B2620 new in 2013. Not a single problem other than a broken weld on the FEL joystick.

I didn't figure I needed the 29 back then but wish I got it now just because you can't get that much horsepower without the exhaust emissions crap now.
