Hello,

Just got prices from my Kubota dealer on two tractors. What do you think?

BX2360 w/ R4 tires, loader and 60" deck.... $14,202.

B2320HSD w/R4 tires, loader, and 60" deck... $16,395.

I'm trying to convince myself the B2320 is worth the extra coin. I already have a Kubota L3830DT with loader so it's a tough sell.... Machine will be used for mowing and around the house landscaping. And possibly working in the woods.

For working in the woods, I'd go with a B no question about it. You'll appreciate the extra ground clearance among other things. Consider the B2620 and B2920 as well.

If it was only mowing and landscaping, the BX would be the better choice.

Why should I consider the B2620 and B2920? Just curious.

Thank you for the feedback!

For mowing use (lawn type areas / Mid mount mower) the BX would probably be the better choice as it's lighter on the lawn and more maneuverable. For the woods you want the B because of ground clearance and better protection from branches etc (the Bx has an exposed HST fan that you would need to cover and protect).

I've got a B and couldn't imagine mowing my lawn with it (lots of landscaping and other obstacles requiring tight turns). I use a smaller old JD tractor for lawn mowing.

Well, that's the way the dealer steered me when I went shopping, and it made sense when you consider what you get for just a little more money. I think the main benefit of the 2320 is slightly smaller size.

I can sure see your conundrum as either will be a compromise to one extent or the other.

You can use a BX in the woods, I have used both of mine, a BX2200 and now a BX2660 and still use the BX2660 occasionally, but they are far from ideal. You have to pay very close attention and even doing that, my tie rod boots got torn off and the tie rods replaced.

They are very strong and will do a surprising amount of work.

If I was giving advice to someone without another tractor, I would recommend a B23/26/2920 and came very close to buying a B2920 myself. Like you, however, I have other tractors and decided the added maneuverability, less turf damage, lighter weight etc. made the BX2660 a better buy regardless of cost.

I know I am swimming upstream here, but no regrets in four years of use. I do have a Bro Tek front and rears plate as well as tie rod protectors now.

Thanks for the feed back! Is the BX really that much more nimble compares to the B? They are very similar in size... Just different ground clearance. I guess I need to drive both. I've driven a BX but not B.

The BX is quite a bit smaller, more along the lines of a hopped-up garden tractor in size.

It was significant enough for our trimming needs and I read a lot of reports of turf damage from B Series owners when turning full lock and especially in 4WD.

Since we started mowing with the BX, we have not used a push mower for trimming.

If you are 6' tall and walk through a 5'11 1/2" door, a "little" can mean a "lot".

Probably the only reason to consider the B2620 or B2920 over the B2320 is just more power. You can see the specs on the kubota website, there are some differences, but nothing major other than engine HP. You probably only really care about the HP if you're doing PTO work (which is why I opted for the B2920 to run a chipper). The b2920 at least has way more power than it has weight and traction, so at some point in the line the HP only becomes useful for PTO tasks.
