Premixed fuel in a can

   / Premixed fuel in a can #31
I run the Stihl moto mix in my equiptment when I store it, after I empty the tank of pump gas mix. One can goes a long way when its used to flush out the carb and lines from the pump gas. Three years and no issues.

Yes...
The only good thing about racing fuel in a stock 2 stroke, is no ethanol. Higher octane makes less power.

I called the Sonoco rep in my area, and they tell me that their racing fuel has 10% ethanol. I haven't checked with anyone else

Oh man, that really sucks!

But less octane is better anyway. Look for some 91 eth-free. Try a marina if you can't find a station... Call a place that sells outboard motors and ask them...

It would be cheaper to just buy a bottle of stabilizer of your choice, add it to your pre-mixed fuel, and you'll have fuel for a year. Since you said you cut firewood annually, if you do it at the end of the season, it'll hold just fine for next year, if you end up not using it in-between. Doing it like that you'll save tons over the pre-mixed, even if you use 91+ octane pure gas.
