Prayers sent. I also have experienced these medical delays with my daughters doctor and my own. When it was my daughters doctors I wanted tests and treatment asap. With my own the likely problem was my gallbladder. I knew I was not in critical condition and wanted to give the docs time to run every test they might need to. It was about 3 weeks between the first gall bladder test and removal.

Bill, I realize it is easy for me to say this but I would very much consider telling Kelsey the test was for cancer and it was negative. Women have a real fear of cancer compared to men. It would surprise me if even at her age she does not have that concern.

Do you have a doctor who is over all controlling the testing and who she sees? If so ask them to please look at all that has been done and think of what has NOT been done. Be sure all test results are sent to that physician also.

Still praying for you all.

The doctor didn't want her to know what the test was for, because he don't want her to worry...She has been under a lot of stress and having acid-reflux real bad.

I feel that she should know what the test was for, But i don't know how she would react when we told her... and I do feel guilty that were holding this info. from her.

We do have a doctor who is wanting to do all these test, but he hasn't scheduled no other tests at this point.... and if he don't straighten up and get his act together, then I'll take her to our family doctor & request another specialist.... We also heard that this doctor goes to different hospitals and is really busy.

Right now she is seeing two specialist.... One for the pain all over her body, and another one for her throat & stomach.

Where are these doctors located? Just wondering if maybe it would help to look to an area where there are more specialists to choose from. The idea of having a cancer test done and then being asked to wait until July 8 for the doctor to give the results still doesn't sit well with me, especially as a parent.

Have you asked around your church to see if anyone else can refer you to the kind of specialist Kelsey needs?

The test that the other doctor wanted to do this week about her throat that involved a tube up her nose & down her throat was cancelled, because she had acid-reflux real bad that morning.

They have scheduled it for Monday morning, and we have to be at the hospital at 9:00am

We took her this morning for the test that the throat doctor wanted to do.

The nurse started the tube up her nose & when the tube started down her throat, my daughter felt bad pain and the nurse stopped the test... and the nurse would not finish it.

The nurse called the doctors cell phone and told him what happened, and that she needed for him to schedule another test before she could complete the other one on another date.

This test is called a "Barium swallow" test and it's scheduled for July 16

I will be so glad when my daughter does not have to see all these doctors & go through all the tests.

Thanks everyone for the prayers!!!

I'm in Eastern Kentucky.

We have 5 hospitals that are close to us..... and the best one is in Louisville Ky.

But Louisville is a 4 1/2 hour drive from my home... That's were i had my wrist surgeries, and it's the best hospital in KY.

We have talked about finding a doctor in that area, and yes we have had so many people from church & other people telling us about doctors, and everyone names a different doctor:confused:

Doctor is totaly wrong, at 16 years old she needs to be treated as an adult, to me not knowing what test are for will cause more stress.
I truly belive she needs to know every thing going on.

Of course you and I don't know Kelsey, the doctor, or her parents really well, so I figure that's up to them to decide, but for me and my family, yep, I agree with you.

Yes, I must certainly agree also. AND,...I would think that no matter how much stress this little girl is under,...and I agree that she has very likely "considered" the idea of cancer, herself, at least silently in fear.

Therefore, I would also think that "she" would feel greatly relieved to learn that one of those tests was for cancer,....AND IT WAS NEGATIVE!! How could she NOT entertain a feeling of wondrous relief to know the "big" one is no longer to be feared.

With "that" one "out-of-the-way",...would she not be better prepared to get on with the rest in anticipation of finally finding the answer?

I pray daily for the Lord to "ease-her-pain" during all this stress! God Bless!!!

Dealing with doctors is so frustrating because so many of them can't or won't explain what they are doing and why they are doing it. It is also frustrating to try to pick a good one and having to rely on a family doctor to make a good referral. They don't always really know the qualifications of the specialist and sometimes the referrals are made because their hospital has some common business affiliation with the specialist. You almost need a doctor to pick a doctor. I was hoping you knew someone who could guide you to a doctor that you'd feel more comfortable with.

I suspect it's difficult to know what to say to Kelsey when the doctors have left you wondering yourself.
