That is impressive, what a lift for a gas powered unit! Most people think power from a Diesel, not a gas unit! That video will change some minds! All of that for under 11 grand!
THanks for the video!!

Under $12,600.00 delivered /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

That was the tractor with:
Small bucket W/teeth
Large light material bucket
60" finish mower
48" brush hog
60" snow blade
30" pallet forks
Custom quick attachment plate for future projects
7' loading ramps to get it in my truck
Extra set of blades for finish mower
And arm rests for the seat.

Still a bargain.

I'm impressed so far, but in reality, 7 hours aint much. I'll keep working it and post the good and the bad. I'm working on a review, but feel I need a little more time on the unit to be fair. Maybe 25 hours.

Did you see the other videos in the earlier posts? There are a few nice ones of the small toothed bucked tearing up some dirt that was frozen about an inch down.

For some reason I have not been able to connect to the server to see the logs video. Your description, however, confirms what I have repeatedly heard about the PowerTrac hydraulics. Makes you start wondering about hanging weight on the trailer hitch, doesn't it?

Where do you go for repair parts? Are parts available locally for the hydraulic motors and pumps? I am seriously considering buying a PT 422, but I would like to know if repairs are readily available.

I'm trying to troubleshoot htis problem with my ISP. Do you get an error message?

As for the weight, I think I'll leave it as is. That log was the biggest thing that I could forsee moving for a long time. I imagine that I could add more weight to the rear, but don't want to try. The machine will be primarily a lawn mower, so I want to keep it light all summer as well.

The motor on the PT425 is a Kohler. There are several Kohler certified shops around here. All of the hydraulic pumps and motors could be serviced at any good hydraulic shop(several good ones around here as well). Same goes for hydraulic hoses, rams, valves and linkage. The tires, rims, electrical all seem to be standard stuff carried at local parts stores. Everything else is plate steel. The machine is really very simply constructed out of heavy standard parts. I can't say enough about how tough it seems to be built.

However, I would strongly recomend that you test drive one, as well as JD, Kubota, NH and several others. Look into service in your areas on the parts I mentioned. Make sure that the machine will fit your present and future needs.

Why the PT422 instead of the PT425? Just curious.

I meant to type in 425. What brand are the hydraulic motors and pumps? All the other parts are easily serviced locally. I'll have to ask about the hydraulics.

MossRoad:

The only message I get is that I can't connect to the server. I was able to do so without a problem with your earlier film clips, which I downloaded. I take it from some of the posts that others have gotten to the log lift video without a problem, but I have cosistently had my request timed out.
(I am using W-2000 and IE 5.5 on a shared T-1 line.)

I just tried
and can no longer get to it either. I just get the standard screen saying it's unavailable and suggesting trying again.

Weird...I just tried it and got in immediately....maybe a ISP issue or routing?

From the video's that I have seen (from Power-Trac) you can do some hydraulic work you self, like changing the motors on each wheel. It also sounds like Power-trac will give as much assistance as possible.

MossRoad - As to the toughness of construction of the PowerTracs, a friend of mine who went with me to the factory to look at the 2465 said "The only thing that could hurt one of these things is a bigger one."

I tryed to see your video also. All I got was the little square with red X in it at the upper left of my screen. JIM

Re: Problem getting to PT videos

MossRoad:
I finally read the whole page that I got when I tried to get to the videos. Down at the bottom, it said:
Cannot find server or DNS Error
Internet Explorer
I don't think there have been any DNS changes here recently, but I don't understand what they are anyway. Our mail service provider made a change, but in SMTP (?) address, not DNS.
I did download something or other from Microsoft upgrading security, which certainly could have done something, but I haven't a clue what. Any suggestions, anyone?

Re: Problem getting to PT videos

A clue, I guess. I logged into AOL, pasted the video URL in the address box and got right to it. Clearly the problem is my IE 5.5 browser setting going through the service supplier on the T-1 line, but I haven't any idea what setting to look at or change . I would appreciate any suggestions.

Re: Problem getting to PT videos

Charlie, I'm using IE 6 with a 24k dial up connection and got right to it by clicking on the original link. Of course, it took about 4 minutes to load./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Bird:
Since I got to the earlier ones easily, I have to assume it's a setting that recently somehow changed, but I can't guess which one. Hopefully someone on the board can help. I, too can get to the videos either dial up or Tcp/Ip connection to AOL, but not through Kivex/Allegiance, my supplier.

My guess is that it is my ISP as sometimes you can get it and sometimes you can't. (What do I expect for $15.00 a month/w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif). I'll call them again tomorrow and forward the information. Thanks for all of the replies on the problems. If they weren't so big, I'd just attach them like a photo, but they are way over the 150K limit. I could save them as smaller movies, but then you couldn't see anything as it would only be about 2 inches across.

Are any of you able to save them to your hard drive, then play them? I don't have the option of right clicking on it and choose "save target as", it is grayed out.
