Power Steering Pump and Hoses

My ~1970 MF175 ( Perkins A4) needed new power steering hoses. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find any parts locally ( ON, Canada) and one of the two hoses was available to be shipped, but commanded a hefty $350 price!! Local hydraulics builders don't have the needed fittings for the pump nor the steering arm cylinder, so they weren't able to replace the lines. My amazing diesel tech/handy person was able to crimp a new hose between the existing pump and cylinder arm fittings. So far, so good, I'm back to non-armstrong steering, But, he's not certain how long this solution will last.
So, I'm looking for ideas and any experience anyone has with retrofitting a new power steering pump, hydraulic steering arm into older MFs? Is there a more recent model MF power steering pump/steering arm combo that will easily fit into the 175 that someone has experience with? How about a non-OEM solution?

Appreciate any experience you can share.

I decided to look into my power steering issues. As it doenst work. So I added some power steering fluid and then it came right back out. One of the hoses has a hole in it. Can I simply cut this area out and splice it back together with a bib and some hose clamps?
