Power Beyond 3520

Can someone explain to me what the power beyond kit achieves, that a hydraulic port (3rd svc) will not?

IE, can you plug a backhoe into a factory 3rd svc on a 3520?

You have to have the power beyond kit for the backhoe, its a constant flow of hydraulic fluid where as the third function only flows when the lever is pulled. Plus the power beyond has a screened filter and if I remember right the couplers might be slightly different (not looking at my tractor at the moment).

You can do that and then hold the lever ON with a bungee cord or something, but it is a bit of a mickey mouse solution. My 3320 CAB was like that when I first bought it from the OO. Since I mostly wanted to use the 3 rd SCV for the MMM, I quickly had the dealer shop add PB. Don't think you would get the same flow with SCV vs PB. Spend the $450 and do it right.

You can obtain the fluid from the 3rd scv, but you have to latch it on.

PB is just a high pressure carry over port.

If there is a hose feeding the 3rd scv, then that end of the hose can become the PB feed for the BH. With BH connected, you will lose the 3rd scv and the 3pt, not that you need either.

If not using the BH, then jumper the hose back to the3rd scv valve.

If hyd valves are matched to the flow rate, there should be no loss through any valve/hose.

Took a look at my tractor and the power beyond lines are a larger diameter than the 3rd function lines so I would assume that it has a higher flow rate than the other lines.

Also the power beyond couplers on the tractor (and backhoe) are a male and a female instead of the normal 2 females of the function lines. I would assume that's so you can't hook them up backwards.
