It has a 660 cc gas engine, looks similar to the sidekick engine with 1 cyl missing. It's a hoot to drive, being right hand drive, the wife drives it, and I shift for her. She just can't get the left hand shifting thing down. Had it up to around 60, gets a little skittery at that speed.

He ships containers directly to dealers, has one in LA., not sure where though. I'll get more pics over the weekend, its at my place in eastern Wa.

I guess the new Grizzlies are nice - but personally there is not enough difference between a 660 (mine) and a 700 to make me want to trade. The 660 will run 60-65 mph and that's way faster than I need to be going

I haven't seen one of the new 700's yet, but would think power steering might be nice, or it could also just be something else to go wrong while out on the trail. I would much rather have seen Yamaha introduce a 1000cc grizz instead of offering power steering.

The 660 has had a few issues since intro, but I think these have been resolved. There are also many aftermarket goodies available for the existing Grizz. Time will tell on the new 700

I added heavier springs on mine to help when carrying the 25 gal sprayer, as well as to help stiffen the ride when haulin' for fun. I can also just get off and lift the front and rear end if it ever gets high centered - try that with your UTV

I think the power steering would be nice, but like you said just another thing to go wrong on the trail. But it's not like regular power steering, there's no fluid at all. I doubt anyone will come out with anything too much over an 800 cause they're saying that Bombardier is WAAAAY faster than it needs to be.

My workhorse, a 2000 Rancher 2X4 with 9000mi and no problems (besides a couple of Honda recalls) Riged up for plowin.

9,000 miles WOW! You must do A LOT of riding. Our Foreman is a 99 and it has a little over 3,800 and I thought that was a lot. You can't beat the Honda reliability. That's one thing I've found out.

I have a 2000 Rancher ES 2x4. I have over 5,000 miles on it. It has been a very reliable fourwheeler. I have just now started having a problem with it. It will not shift when I go thru water about a foot deep. There is a electrical connection underneath the transmission that I think I need to replace. Anyone elese have similar problems. It will start shifting correctly when it dries out.

I'm not sure if the Rancher's swingarm is the same as the Foreman, but you have to buy a special tool to take the bearings out. I have'nt taken them out and they really need changed, it's startin to make a lot of noise. Has anyone else changed swingarm bearings in one of these?

I have a 2000 with ES also but 4x4. Go to this site www.atvconnection.com and their is a specific honda forum where I heard about the same problem. Lots of knowledgeable folks their.I was looking through the Clymer manual and it could be a number things wrong. Ive heard alot of people say angle sensor regarding shifting problems.

I was havin that same problem with the Foreman the other day. I lifted it up with the forklift to wash it, and when I let it down I went to shift and it shifted up ok, but wouldn't down shift.

LOL. It is empty. Actually, taking it out isn't that hard. This is the 3rd time I've had to take it out because of the bearings. I have a friend that has a laith and he's gonna take the axle and machine it, then I'm gonna get a ready sleeve and put it where the axle rides cause where it rides now is all tore up. Then I gotta put a grease fitting in it so no water will get in there. Easy right? LOL!

thanks, i dont ride it much i just like to take it out once a week. When the neighbors start making noise i like to do a few laps in the yard its very loud i have a trinity pipe on it. It seems to keep their sound levels in check.
