I love when an old thread comes back to life!!!
Yeah, the only reason I looked at it was because YOU posted.
Black Friday started this year back in October. I've spent hundreds on needed tools etc. And many were marked down more than they are now.

Nice pair of DeWalt tools - $100 off, i.e. $149 vs $249 normal price on Amazon.

I looked at some Black Friday offerings on Amazon, soon to realize that there is nothing I need. If I really wanted something, it would become a need.
So I stopped looking and enjoyed my day...

This was delivered yesterday maybe cyber Monday deal? it's a DeWalt 20v single handed cordless pruner saw for my Xmas present I believe, no idea what my better half paid for it, hopefully not to much I think she also got me a 20 volt dewalt snow shovel for the deck and walks. I got her blissy brand pillow cases at 60% off and a large electric heating pad. I'm already gleefully thinking of the usage the saw will endure on my hobby operation. I foresee me removing the tip guard though. Questionable unsafe actions on my part definitely not recommended, lol. I bleed mostly black and yellow btw.

20 volt dewalt snow shovel????
Yes figure for steps, lighter stuff, or lower amounts of wet snow probably easier than dragging a snowblower up stairs and definitely better than shoveling. Over the years most dewalt cordless tools and especially there batteries I own haven't let me down and if they did DeWalt usually stepped up and remedied it. Blow hard, but back in the day used to manhandle gas 16-20 inch bar chainsaws occasionally using them like a top handle pruner, until about 5 years ago almost cut off my pointer finger with my wife's DeWalt 20v 12inch cordless more traditional styled chainsaw. Snow drift but Being overly Stubborn one can still learn I guess. Anyways wish I had that shovel now down here.

I had been looking at walk behind brush mowers for a couple of months. Seems like the least expensive model was $2000 a few weeks before Black Friday, but on Black Friday, I think the least expensive unit was $2,600 "marked down" by $300 to $2,300.

I noticed other instances on other items (like cameras and lenses) where it looked like prices had been raised before BF and then made to look like a discount for BF, but the discounted price was still higher on BF than it had been a few weeks ago.

I found prices higher before discount and close to pricing of pre Black Friday with discount applied...

A few really great prices were sold out... go figure.

I always start taking notes a couple of months before BF. Some things will be higher than before as many people have found out.
Several distributors will show say "$300 off" and now its $700 instead of $1000 but, 2 months ago its regular price was $700. or, you have those that say X amount off list price, but its the same price it is all year long and never was as high as the list price.
Do your research. There are deals to be had.
