Post Hole Driver Return on a M7040

The filler tube adaptor for the Driver looks nice. If you want to remove it raise the lower links and use a pipe wrench to remove and place the original plug on the filler hole. I have used all 3 of the holes in the upper link before and can't tell a difference between the upper versus lower. Just my $.02.

Why not add a 45 degree elbow fitting into the filler hole first, then use it to offset the whole pipe over ? This would give you finger clearance wide for installing pins in middle, lower toplink holes. Its not the ideal solution , but perhaps its better it is now. Its either that or put in a shorter pipe. I am not sure why was a long one wass installed in the first place.

Thanks for all the comments: a pipe wrench in the toolbox may be in my future, but we are first going to try shortening it so that a wrench handle will just clear the pto safety cover. I'll post a final picture when done.

What comes to my mind is it could be easier to hold a funnel for adding hydraulic fluid or the bouncing of the Driver when it slams the post could jar the return line out and cause hydraulic fluid to spray over the operator and tractor. Maybe the previous owner clamped it down or used a bungee cord to hold it in the filler tube.
