Post Hole Digger stand plans

Anyone know of plans for a stand to hold up a 3-Point PHD? I saw one a long time ago in a catalog but it came with the PHD. I want to build one that can hold up the digger with auger and drive shaft connected (at least I think I do). I have not seen one up close or even a good picture.

Amen! The PHD was the most confusing, complicated (& HEAVY) implement I use - I finally built this stand for it:

No welding required, etc. It works well and is simple. I do take off the auger, however. Have fun!

Hey Charlie,
Here's the world's cheapest and easiest PHD stand. It consists of 2 old fence posts, a piece of 2x6, some nails, and some rope.

I read this from another poster a few years ago and have found it to be very good advice. Sorry I forget who it was.

Just drill the bit into the ground about a foot.

I was worried that water will fill up the hole when it rains, but I've been doing it over a year now and only what falls into the hole gets in there. Runnoff goes around the hole because of the burm created by drilling the hole.

I have plans for a proper stand that I'll be able to keep it under roof, but that's kind of low on my list of things to do.

Hanging it from a tree or some other overhang works too.

Gabby mine is even cheaper than yours. I tie mine to a V in a tree trunk. works ok but when I get the time I will make a post stand. I guess if I keep using the tree I can justify a taller tractor every couple of years.
