Teeter tottering on the front tires isn't good. But my seat covers take a beating when it is two side tires.
I used to do road construction and sometimes we had to use a W18 to load ourselves when the 980's were not available. That thing was scary. And not just new operators were fearful of it.

Glad that you got the safe initiation over with so you can feel when things get hairy. Not getting hurt was the important thing.
