positive battery broke

I have a 2010 Cub Cadet 50" zero turn... was cutting yesterday & mower just cut off....found positive battery cable had broke...after putting new end on cable & connecting back to battery, mower would not start...just dead like no connection...what can I check to get mower started...Thanks in advance for your help...

I'd put a completely new cable on, and THOUGHLY clean all connections, including the frame ground.

Why did the cable break? Did it pull hard enough on the battery post to internally break the battery post?

No it didn't...The battery design is flawed & allows battery to move which bends the cable back & forth...clean break at connector..Thanks

Have you tried jumping straight to the starter with jumper cables off a known good battery? If that allows it to start, then you can work backward, testing each cable, solenoid, etc until you come to the dead spot.
