Position of bucket when parked?

Agreed, if only temporarily outside for short periods of time, overnight here and there then I'd not worry either way.

I worry when outside for a couple of nights and if it is raining.

These machines are too expensive to just let sit out and rot, even just a tarp makes a huge difference.

I'll be laying a layer of crushed stone this year so my trailers are no just sitting on the ground, long run I'd like to pave a spot out back for them to sit on.

I agree with the fluid film comment. I park inside but the BH can sit for long periods in the corner of the barn so I always make sure the exposed cylinders, or any other part I worry about gets sprayed with FF.

I do what the others do and leave the bucket curled in resting on a 4x4 to keep it off the ground. The one thing I was told is after turning the engine off was to push the control through all the positions to release any pressure in the lines. You'll hear a little pressure release and the bucket will only move a tiny amount.

Years ago when I got my first tractor with FEL I was told the same thing - to push the control through all the positions to release any pressure in the lines and you do hear the pressure release. I always leave the bucket curled and all the way down and relieve all the pressure in the lines.

It is relatively cheap and easy to replace a rusted through bucket if it ever actually rusts through. Hydro clyinders aren't so cheap. As such, I vote for a bucket of water vs. rusty rods.

My Kioti currently sits outside while the barn is occupied with junk during our remodel. It makes me cry sometimes.

Bucket Paint - EZ Slide paint from Tractor Supply put on the inside of the bucket replaces the flaked/scratched off paint and is pretty good about keeping the mud from sticking. Position of the bucket. I store min in the barn during bad wx but outside I put the bucket down far enough to drain water and act as a parking brake (my dealer does this also). Now, aside, an old tractor driver told me that the only good parking brake is a good tree. I believe it and practice it anytime Im on a hill or around the pond.

I've parked the tractor back in its home so no more unsheltered nights. The spring will be a good time to touch up/repaint the loader. I think I take better care of the tractor than I do my daily driver!
