Thanks guys! I've been binge reading the DIY screener threads and if I had the time I'd definitely take a whack at building one myself... I was given a 5 hp honda engine off a busted pressure washer last week even! lol

I think I may reach out to the other small composting outfits near me and see if they would want to hire my screener and I out for a day of screening etc. If I made the investment in a Desite screener.. Might be a good way to offset the initial cost... I already have the generator, 20' deckover trailer, truck, and MX5100DT... etc..

Anyone have experience with the larger screens on the Desite? I am thinking about getting the 3" square for a end product of 2" minus on bank run gravel. It has some large rocks. I need to use on driveways around the farm.

When we were actively selling the Desite screens we sold a number of 2" screens. Never any 3" that I am aware of. Folks seemed real pleased with them. The one I personally kept and use often has just a 3/4" screen and I use it for topsoil. One thing I have learned is the angle of the screen makes a huge difference, but I suspect you know that already.

I’m very happy with my 78 and highly recommend them. Andy at Columbia (their US based distribution) has been great to deal with when I’ve needed anything.

PS: If you get one, make sure you get the riser box, it makes a huge difference.
