Yeah, not a myth at all. They give you way too much "syrup". What they don't give you ANY of is Maple Syrup.

On a related note we have a friend who carries his "pint" (of Maple Syrup!) in his pocket when going out to breakfast, in case the restaurant he goes to doesn't have the real stuff. Here in Vermont, that is a rarity (except in chains/franchises such as McD's).

Probably not syrup in the jug. If they dont have maple, he takes a sip, then forgets all about it.

I give up. There is so much counterfeit maple syrup and honey out there that I can no longer tell the difference. Nothing tastes the same or as good as I remember.

As someone who's lived most of his life in New England I couldn't agree with you more. I remember when we were kids my parents gave some of our home made maple syrup to some city relatives. They didn't like it at all. Didn't taste right. I guess they were so used to Aunt Jemima, etc. corn syrup that they couldn't appreciate the real thing.

Don't think I've seen this mythconception mentioned yet, in the fall when the teachers' unions go on strike they're doing it "for the kids". Yeah, right.

I used to do that when I went out for breakfast on the weekends. Sometimes I forgot and left it on the table, but they always had it for me when I returned the next Saturday.
