Went back today and noticed it has hydraulics. On the Massey Harris site, they are asking everything from 500 (working) to 4500, show condition. With most in the 1000-2500 range.

I want to be fair with this, just wondering.

My original plan was to find an 8n when I get moved back there. I know this tractor is not an equivalent of an 8n, but will just be gardening. I can see how I could convert the hydraulic lift to take 3 pt attachments with out too much work.

Ideas, please.

The biggest limitation is the engine hp. Just depends on what you want to do with it. Like I said.. I have an IH cub that is about 1 hp or so different from the pony.. and an allis G that is the same hp.. etc. Neither will cut thick tall grass with their belly mowers. I don't think they'ed pull much in the terms of a plow.. perhaps a very small 1 bottom, or a centerline disc plow.. etc.

What are you looking to do with this machine?

Basically, just garden. And some wood hauling. But, that is good to know. I probably should just wait for an 8N because you always need more power/capabilities than you thought you would.
Anyway, I'm thinking maybe $750 as it has sat for awhile and he doesn't use any more.
It does have the hydraulics and I understand that was rare.
Thanks,
Dave

I think you'd be better off with an 8N and you'd already have 3 point and attachments would be easier to come by. Also more power and parts are available. Tons of old Fords still running around the country and Chris can tell you anything there is to know or how to fix. IMHO

Heck.. for 750$.. if you could get it.. go for it.. and then ALSO get the 8n.

2 tractors are better than 1.

That's really what I was thinking sub-consciously.
great minds tend to think alike. LOL
I know a little about 8-9N's but, I kinda fell for this little tractor.
thanks,
