Both are AC/DC Stick. I already have a small wire welder (Linc.) And now want a stick for the thick stuff.

I've narrowed it between these two:
Lincoln

Miller

Thanks,
Billy, out.

What's your favorite color?:D

Either machine will serve you well, My personal preference is the blue one-but wouldn't turn down the red for the right price.

This could get nasty, kind of like the Ford/Chevy issue:eek:

As kennyd says either one is fine. There has been more welding done with the Lincoln 225 than all welders put together. Buy either one and enjoy. big dan

You will enjoy and have years of use from both of these welders. My stick is red, my mig is blue....I love em' both. Nick.

It's always nice to have those big decisions where you can't go wrong either way.;)

Thnx all,
Both are the same price; 'm going to check the warranties next. I'm leaning towards Miller, they are more popular around here.

I've have had the Lincoln for few years now and it has welded anything I needed. The only real problem with them are the leads are to short. I added 50' leads to mine, so I could run them out of the garage if I had to.I got it set up to TIG weld too. Works great on thin metals.

You can't go wrong with either machine. The Red tombstone welders have been around for a loooong time. I have used both red and blue , currently all my welders are BLUE, but only because the price was right at the time I was buying.

Get some longer cables, I'm betting the ones that come with either welder aren't going to be long enough.

I'm not sure, and i dont know if it really matters to you,but i think Lincolns are made in Mexico now.I beleive the Millers are made in the USA still.
Like i say,i'm not sure about this.I have the Lincoln stick welder you
are deciding upon, and it does work good,no problems.I also have a Lincoln MIG machine.Again,no problems. They work great. These might be old enough they where made in the US,i'm not sure,it doesnt matter now.
I bought both of these machines years ago before i started noticing
that more and more, just about all you can find is foreign made stuff.
I dont know about anybody else but i'm sick of it,and anymore if i have a choice between two items,of aparently equal quality, one made in the USA,and one made "somewhere else",i will buy the USA made product 9
times out of 10,even if i have to pay more.Thats just the way i feel anymore.
Sorry guys,i just had to vent.I DO have a japanese made tractor, but i think somebody said one time on here that you cant buy a USA made tractor under 40 hp.I wish i could.
Anyway,i think if you check their web sites it tells where they are made.
Just thought you might like to know.........digger2
